Understanding Autism Awareness
April is recognized as Autism Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and promoting inclusivity for individuals on the spectrum. This month serves as an opportunity to educate the public about the challenges faced by those with autism, as well as to celebrate their unique strengths and talents. Through various events and campaigns, Autism Awareness Month encourages communities to foster understanding, acceptance, and support for individuals with ASD, helping to create a more inclusive society for everyone.
The FCIDD is proud to once again this past year played a part in funding projects that support ASD support including sensory rooms; some for educational facilities who serve only non-verbal autistic children, some for local museums seeking inclusion. We are grateful for the opportunity to "make possibilities happen".
Autism Awareness Makes Communities Stronger

It promotes understanding, acceptance, and inclusion of individuals with autism in all life aspects, advocating for their rights and equal opportunities. The month also supports families and individuals affected by autism, offering resources and community connections to improve their quality of life.
