2026-27 College Scholarships

These scholarships are available to any student who has completed high school and is entering college. Cycles open each fall for submission in February and announcements are sent to Participating Civitan Clubs.

Sharing this opportunity with your club members and cheering them on to share with local youth programs and schools assures more students in your community are able to secure funding for college.  FY25-26 saw $21,000 distributed to nine students for their post-secondary education. Six Civitan clubs participated in submissions. Individual student scholarship amounts ranged from $2,000.00 to $5,000.00.

Fellows

The Fellows program is a great benefit to Participating Clubs by increasing exposure in your communities and supports our continued ability to present scholarships to college students. This program has been active for years in the original Chesapeake District and designed with raising money for scholarships in mind while honoring outstanding members of your club or community.

Any club or individual may designate someone they want to honor as an FCIDD Fellow. It requires a minimum contribution of $500. which is fully tax deductible and may be paid by clubs or individuals. In addition to the check, you must also send to me a small portrait of the individual for inclusion in our honors book as well as a brief biography of the individual’s life preferably with emphasis on Civitan activities or activities within the community attracting your attention to bestow this honor.

If we have an in-person FCIDD or regional meting coming up, we will make a nice presentation to show appreciation to your designee. Otherwise it will be presented virtually at our next zoom meeting, or we can defer the presentation to a time of your choice. We will also provide you with a nice certificate and lapel pin to present at your club meeting if you prefer.

Remember--all funds become part of our endowment the interest from which is used to fund our scholarship program.

You must submit to me at LEAST 30 days prior to presentation:
