Among the grant recipients in our July 1 cycle was the Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center , to help fund the September 6, 2025 Parent Youth Empowerment Summit held in Williamsburg, Virginia at the Great Wolf Lodge. FCIDD has committed to this program twice in recent years, and is very proud to be a part of funding underserved IDD youth and their families.
The Summit is held for youth with disabilities, ages 14-22, and their parents, to learn, connect with other families and organizations, and build advocacy skills for the future. 40 individual youth, and between 80-120 parents attend. The grant provided $22,960 to help fund the Summit, and was sponsored by Peninsula Civitan Club.

The has been operational since 1978, and provides tools and information to empower Virginia students with disabilities(birth - age 26) and their families. FCIDD is proud to be a partner in support.
