Here at the FCIDD, it is always about the people. We were excited at the invitation to attend the grand opening of the newly renovated and refurbished interior play space at The Arc Montgomery County's KFICCC Preschool in Maryland.
A model of preschool instruction that can be replicated to ensure our children learn more compassion and understanding toward those who might be different, KFICC is designed for children with and without IDD to play together, learning to respect differences. Fun and exciting play equipment offers a PreK Program designed to prepare children for kindergarten. In every classroom, typically-developing children, children with developmental disabilities and children with special health care needs play and learn together. The staff includes pediatric registered nurses, trained childcare providers, and a family worker. Every child enrolled at KFICCC has the opportunity to thrive!
This grant, which was awarded in our March 2025 cycle, provided over $15,000 in partnership with other local funders to make this a possibility. The Greater Silver Spring Civitan Club proudly sponsored this grant to the Foundation and we are grateful for their support!
