The Foundation would not be what it is today without the volunteers of the FCIDD Board of Directors, and the leadership of the Executive Committee (EC). An annual commitment, serving on the EC requires 10 monthly meetings, and service on at least one committee during the year. Current working committees include grants, finance, long range planning, golf, administrative/ legal, as well as ad-hoc committees based upon need. The Executive Committee slate of volunteers is voted in by our Board of Directors each Fall.
Meet two of the Foundation's Executive Committee volunteers-extraordinaire!

Sly Bieler currently serves as the Immediate Past President, and has been on the Board of Directors for fifteen years, holding various positions on the Executive Committee for the last 5 years. He is a member of the Baltimore Civitan club. Sly grew up in Philadelphia before migrating to Maryland. Having worked at the ARC, he recognized the impact FCIDD support was making in so many projects.
"Seeing the great ideas proposed by regional IDD organizations come to life is incredible rewarding. We have no idea how many lives we reach, from CIRC and research to local organizations within our geographic area, from individual clients to their families and agency staff."

Audrey Dumentat, our West Coast gal, is currently serving as 1st Vice President on the Executive Committee. This is Audrey's second year serving on the Foundation Board, and she is a member of the Greater Silver Spring Civitan Club.
She originally hails from Illinois, both Chicago suburbs, then a small town in the south of the state until college.
Audrey loves the fact that so many organizations are uplifted through foundation grants, and is quick to say we are the best kept secret in the nonprofit industry!
We agree! Let's change that! Look for more information on our EC members and their positions in the coming months and think about this: maybe you, too, could serve on the Board! It is fun, rewarding, invigorating conversations and decisions to "make possibilities happen" in the IDD world.
