WorkSource, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1967, offers job training, employment, and support to help individuals with disabilities achieve economic self-sufficiency and community participation. They serve those with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities, mental illness, sensory impairments, and autism.
In addition to employment services, WorkSource provides educational and recreational activities through its Day Support program for individuals with severe disabilities. The Wheels for WorkSource project addresses transportation barriers by providing reliable transportation for job-related activities in the Charlottesville/Albemarle area of Virginia.
Currently, WorkSource's Employment Services program supports over 100 individuals, offering job skill assessments, job coaching, and transportation to career-related events. The program plans to replace its outdated vehicle with a new hybrid model to ensure reliable and cost-effective transportation.

The FCIDD is proud to support this WorkSource project grant request with $10,000 toward the purchase of a hybrid vehicle. WorkSource has benefitted from the foundation's grant program for over 25 years, receiving over $68,000 in support. The Thomas Jefferson Civitan Club supported the submission of this grant.
