Everyone needs a little Kindness Cafe + Play in their lives!
The Foundation thanks Katie Kishore, founder of the Charlottesville, Virginia, coffee shop that employs people with cognitive disabilities, who wrote recently to share an update on the most recent grant project in their second location, nearer UVA and its rotunda. An outdoor landscaped seating area, designed to increase traffic and visibility for the coffee shop's Rugby Road location, is slated to be complete in time for the late Fall 2026 season! We have been with Kindness Cafe + Play through two locations, and are so proud of their growth.
In a kind and "small-world" way, Katie shared that the project architect's son is now an employee of Kindness in a win-win! The Charlottesville community, including the Thomas Jefferson Participating Club who sponsored two grants for Kindness, has embraced Kindness, where a local business just recently provided the underwriting for a new video which we share below. Enjoy!
